Allegra Tablets is used for preventing or treating symptoms of hay fever and other seasonal allergies such as stuffy nose, runny nose, sneezing, itching of the nose and throat, and itchy, watery eyes. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. Fexofenadine (allegro) is an antihistamine. Antihistamines work by preventing the effects of a substance called histamine, which is produced by the body.
Fexofenadine prevents sneezing; runny nose; itching, watery eyes; and other allergic symptoms. Some medical conditions may interact with Allegra Tablets. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions. In deciding to use a medicine, the risks of taking the medicine must be weighed against the good it will do. This is a decision you and your doctor will make. In animal studies, this medicine did not cause birth defects but did cause a decrease in weight of the infant. Discuss with your doctor whether or not you should continue to use this medicine if you become pregnant.
