Drug interactions:

Porfimer (car) increases the sensitivity of tissues to the effects of light. Porfimer (car) is used before the administration of laser light to cancerous tumors to decrease tumor size. Cough/cold combinations are used mainly to relieve the cough due to colds, influenza, or hay fever. They are not to be used for the chronic cough that occurs with smoking, asthma, or emphysema or when there is an unusually large amount of mucus or phlegm (pronounced flem) with the cough. Porfimer (car) should only be administered under the supervision of a qualified healthcare provider experienced in the use of cancer chemotherapeutic agents. Porfimer (car) may increase the sensitivity of the eyes to sun, bright lights, or car headlights. Dark sunglasses which have an average white light transmittance of less than 4% should be worn when outdoors for 30 days following treatment with porfimer (car).
