Oxygen Network cancels reality show.

Friend --

I'm happy to announce that Oxygen Network has canceled "All My Babies' Mamas". If you haven't heard about this unaired reality show, the producers considered following rapper Shawty Lo, whose real name is Carlos Walker, as he 'tended' his 11 children from 10 different women!

I spoke against this program on Mike Huckabee's show that aired four times over the weekend and have received an overwhelming and positive response from people on both sides of the political aisle, especially from blacks!

We pressured the network to take the high road and they responded.

When they canceled the show, the network released a statement, saying, "We will continue to develop compelling content that resonates with our young female viewers and drives the cultural conversation."

But despite what the network claims, trivializing Carlos Walker's lifestyle as a form of entertainment does not drive a cultural conversation. Instead, it helps to normalize living without responsibility.

Already, the African-American community is suffering from broken families with out-of-wedlock births soaring over 70 percent. In the 1960s, out-of-wedlock births for blacks was 30 percent!

The destruction of the black family in only 40 years is not normal and it should not treated as entertainment for vulnerable children and young women. The consequences of living without responsibility perpetuates poverty and it's cruel.

Marriage, and having children after marriage, is one of the essential ingredients to releasing Americans from a cycle of poverty. That's the conversation our country needs to have about our culture.

I'm very excited and happy to deliver this news to you. Because of support from people like you, we made a difference today. Thank you!
